Here's the good and the bad.

I give this purchase an extra credit for the following reasons. First, let me say that without body modification, this bulb will not fit the Lexus HID Zenon adaptive headlight system on a 2006 Lexus Rx 400h. the body of this lamp. It took a Dremel tool to cut a notch in the plastic base to accommodate the protruding portion of the aluminum housing that was intended to hold the headlight bulb. Without this modification or a raised notch, the lamp will not fit. This will make the light appear brighter than the leftover old bulb, which I will replace when I have time. Must go faster. I've already modified the body to match. Lexus gets a bad rap for its convenient and easy-to-change headlight bulbs. Very badly designed. A common problem with this Lexus model is that the headlights are filled with moisture on the inside of the plastic. This is likely to lead to electrical corrosion and premature failure. Lexus won't replace them until they get really bad. Lexus is too picky when it comes to customer satisfaction for a car whose motto is "pursuit of excellence". But that's another problem. Currently, the new lamp from Osram does not come close to 6000K. I read that it changes from yellow (4300K) to blue (6000K) after 20 hours of warm-up time. This remains to be seen. I just hope this lamp will last as long as the factory lamp. Note: Well, it's been two weeks and more than 40 hours "burning". The light still has a yellow cast. Not white and not blue. Not 6000 Kelvin.
