The electrodes are STRONG! I highly recommend starting on the lowest setting for the first few uses. I suffer from moderate neck and shoulder pain as a result of a car accident about 5 years ago. Tendonitis pain can make it very difficult to fall asleep. My chiropractor recommended that I try one of these devices. It was the cheapest unit I could find that also included shoulder pads. I've been using it for 3 months now and it has changed my life. Every night about 30 minutes before bed, it completely relieves the pain during use and allows me to fall asleep naturally. This device is worth every penny. (it weighs no more than a few ounces). It is so comfortable to wear that I often fell asleep in it. It's also easy to use. Instructions are clear and understandable.
