I bought 2 large and 1 small and connected them by removing sections/screws. The only issue I have is one set was missing the latches so I just installed the top latches and that loosens it up a bit. But customer service was great and sent me a new gate to take the latches off and install. All it took was one phone call. My pup is a Houdini and needs protection from my computer cords etc. I think I'll add another set to my office so he can "visit me during the day while I'm at work but just play it safe". You're not that bad. gray plastic and works well on carpet with support legs installed. This has helped my pup be happier and have more room to roam until we can get him out of the 'chew' stage and do a little more 'baby protection' than we did' I Haven't had young children in a long time.Portable too - brought the little one folded up to the hotel for a family funeral trip -worked great and was easy to do.It's worth the investment,
