Review on AQUANEAT Aquarium Air Driven Bio Corner Filter Sponge: The Ultimate Solution for Fry Shrimp Nano Fish Tanks with Airline Tubing, Air Pump Valves & Suction Cups by Stephanie Martel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Keeps my 10 gallon tank crystal clear!

I've used HOB filters in every aquarium I've ever owned and didn't know much about blocking filters but wanted to see how they compare to my trusty HOB Aqueon, Top Fin and Tetra. WOW, this thing blows them out of the water! Easy to install, as quiet as the air pump you buy and easy to clean. Some reviewers say it's difficult to open, but I've had no problems as long as I removed the filter completely from the tank, dried it, and gently squeezed the sides to loosen the lid. I replaced the included gravel and ceramic fill with a Seachem Matrix and a small pack of Seachem Purigen and have never had a tank cleaner. What I didn't expect was that this tank would somehow show up when unsecured. I'm assuming it's a box filter housing, but as a beginner I wasn't ready! I bought a small aquarium ornament at a local pet store and used it to force the filter to stay in the corner and had no problems. Thanks to this product I plan to eventually install box filters in all my aquariums to complement or replace the current HOB.
