Review on Dell UltraSharp U2720Q Monitor Plane 14", ‎Dell Inspiron, HD by Nick Walker

POOR RELIABILITY: Backlight turned off on 4 out of 6 monitors, possible quality control or design issue

Bought two for the office. One of them had an intermittent backlight issue every few hours or days. Cycle power restored the backlight, but it was devastating because it disabled USB-C and the monitor (so all other screens flickered while the monitor's signal reconnected), so I replaced it over Dell support. Interestingly, a replacement monitor (of the same model) showed the same problem! I replaced it again and the second replaced monitor worked fine. Fast forward a few months and now another original monitor has the same problem! If it was also swapped, then the problem with the replacement monitor - the third so far - still has a problem! One or more backlights would turn off every few hours (the ones turning off seems random, but the one on the far right is the most common, compatible with other monitors), and worse, sometimes ALL the backlights turn off and show nothing on the display. ! I'm about to replace this - 4th! - and I hope to get a good replacement this time (e.g. 2nd replacement). If the new one is also defective, I will refund the money. The picture quality itself is good, with relatively little input lag (albeit without G-SYNC), so it's also good for casual gaming. If only it was RELIABLE…. :-(
