Budget Universal Charger

ALOGIC 100W PD USB-C Wall Charger: $69.99 at the time of writing I've been looking for a good multi-port charger for a long time. I've tried a few others, but they all had one or two glaring bugs. This charger from Alogic is my latest foray into multiport charging, so read on for what I think (spoilers, I love it). The charger comes in a full color box. It's packaged in protective plastic and comes with a USB-C charging cable. This is the complete retail package you can expect at this price point ($70). Very high quality construction with injection molded plastic body and fold out pin for easy storage. One of the things I love most about this charger is how easy it is to add. Alogic added the wattage of each charging port so you don't have to guess how many watts you're getting. The included instructions provide even more information (e.g. how much power is delivered per port when multiple devices are connected). This was a big problem with the last multiport charger I used. It *offers* poor power distribution when charging/powering multiple devices at the same time. This is not a problem with the Alogic charger unless you are using a very high demand device like a 16" MacBook Pro (with other devices connected this charger maxes out at 65W on the primary port, well under 96W). the maximum performance of this Mac for example). Even if you understand the limitations of this charger (which are the same for all multiport chargers with a maximum power of 100W), it still exceeds its weight. I use it daily to charge my Surface Book 2 (for work), power my Apple Homepod, and charge my iPad Air and iPhone at the same time. This is a champ. ------------*Pros*: Excellent power delivery for multiple devices. Good solid construction. Clearly labeled power distribution across ports. *Bad*: There are options for less than $70, but they probably can't handle power, and Apple's single-port 96W charger is $80. * Conclusion: * I *think* I've finally found my durable multiport charger. I've been using it for almost a month now and haven't gotten any "low power charger" warnings from my windows laptop (like other chargers I've tried). That's a win in my book. Five stars out of five for a versatile multi-port option that works great with whatever ports you use. I would buy this again.
