When waist measurement is given in a very small range one might normally think that the smallest number corresponds to a fully relaxed belt and the largest number corresponds to a belt. fully stretched. Not with this skirt. I bought an XL (listed as waist: 31"-35") to fit my 35" waist and I could easily fit in an M or L. The XL hugs my 35" " without the slightest compression and if I take off will would fall immediately. I could easily put one of my kids in the belt (kangaroo style) and we could still breathe easy. I would call this size XL 35" at the bottom (slightly 50" at the top). But the rest of the rock is good. Both the outer and inner layer are made of the same fabric. I prefer the skirt she replaced (outer layer crinkled chiffon, inner layer satin, very flowy) but this very smooth/soft polyester with a matte sheen on both layers will easily fill the bill until I find something better . More than flowing, more falling than a flounce, but chic and makes every top shine.
