I was so impressed with this collar that I decided to write my first Revain review - and I buy so much crap from Revain in all my mailers that I have to do business . It's really quite disgusting. I also return a lot of packages because I'm overly picky about most of the products I buy and always go shopping. This collar is no exception. I wanted to replace my dog's leather collar with something simpler but no less aesthetic. I also wanted something that would make her look a bit more girly. My sweet Lady Pitty is sweet (in the best way possible), but because of the BSL in my town and the general fear for her breed, I think it's in her best interest for people to see her as safely as possible (ANTAP ). I understand that this is playing on heteronormative gender stereotypes and I shouldn't let prejudice sway me, but I also believe that stigma is real and that most dogs are very sensitive to human emotions and can tell when someone is scared, even in front of a slight distance. This makes the dog more nervous and assumes he has something to worry about, which confirms the person's negative perception and continues the cycle of misunderstandings. Simply put, if my dog has a nice pink collar, he will let people threaten him. I've probably spent hours searching the internet for different collar options - did I like the pattern, would it go well with my dog's harness and backpack, right? the right size for your neck, will it be comfortable, will the color and materials stand up to dirt, grime and abuse? in the Revain product photo when expecting both the yellow neoprene and the white areas of the fabric would probably smudge fairly easily. It's worth the risk though because the bright colors and patterns are so cute. I liked the collar right away. It's not as stiff as the handcrafted ones I've bought before, it feels soft, feels comfortable, and the stitching feels really strong. After using the collar for a few days, my friend and I took Nova to Utah to hike in the desert and ride in the canyons where we were all doused in red dust and clay. Although the collar has never been completely submerged in mud, it has been exposed to a lot of dirt and still looks fresh and new. Small stains on the neoprene and the white is a little less bright. Pretty good. I am interested in software usability and I value a well designed product, be it physical or digital. While I was initially skeptical about the optional plastic bracket, I quickly came to appreciate its practicality. I have a side pull strap (which I like too) that attaches to Nova's collar so I always clip it on and off. The plastic ring for their ID tags keeps them out of my hands, easier to reach, and theoretically easier for a stranger to get because they're not hanging around their necks from below. I've found lost dogs in the past and had trouble getting the dog to show me their dog tags. And plastic means less metal-on-metal clanking. This is an elegant solution. I used to take Nova's collar off because her dog tags were so loud. This time I ordered a flat slide tag with gaps in the prongs so you can use it on a buckle collar if you can't remove the hardware from either end of the collar. This type of tag is for the flimsy nylon collars you see at the grocery store, not the heavy duty double layer collar I bought which would be too thick. I took a chance, hoping I could squeeze the tag's teeth between two layers of fabric and maybe snap a stitch or two without breaking the structural integrity of the collar. This also meant that the metal pins on either side had to be soft and not rub on Nova's neck. Pet emblem and small plastic ring with charm. Since I don't like being branded, I liked being able to peel off the label with my seam ripper and tape the label in place. But I'm already hanging on to that second tyre. I tore off the label anyway and found that the label and frame were attached independently! When I tore off the label, I found that the tire was protected by a rigid pad and would be completely covered by the new label. I will definitely buy more of these. I love many of the patterns in the Blueberry Pet line and they are so affordable that it can be fun to swap them out sometimes. The only downside is that light colors will get dirtier over time and dog hair will stick to the fabric. more than leather, but there's nothing you can do about that. Overall, this collar far exceeded my expectations. Added bonus, this medium sized 3/4 inch collar is slightly longer than most allowing my thick necked dog to wear a collar that is proportional to his head. Most 16 inch collars are 1 inch wide, making them look like a member of the Elizabethan court.
