The instructions are the same as when buying Ikea furniture. The main problem was that they showed the same pattern for the small propeller and the large propeller. It was more of a guessing game trying to figure out which screw to use. Screws were also very cheap screws. These are hex bolts and three of the bolt heads are deformed. The Allen keys that came with it didn't fit. Luckily I was able to use them where they could be hand tightened without compromising structural integrity. I would buy my own screws for the ceiling or wall part. To be honest, you might not have a choice. The screws break very easily. I was very frustrated that I had to go to my home store and sift through a thousand different screws to find a similar one and now I have silver screws instead of the matching black ones. Also, the bolts are metric, so the standard American tool kit doesn't include them. You will need a metric wrench or small adjustable wrench to tighten the rotating part of the bracket. Apart from that it looks nice.
