Review on Transform into the Wizarding World: Simplicity 8723 Harry Potter Cosplay and Halloween Costume Sewing Pattern for Kids, Teens, and Adults in Various Sizes XS-XL by Karla Richter

Use a 60 inch wide fabric and remove the back seam.

fabric 60 definitely buy. Alterations: We remove the allowances on the back and make a fold line instead. It removes the stitching from the back and looks sooooo much better. Use a cute frog closure instead of a button and elastic. Sew the pockets, then sew the shoulder seams, THEN sew the sleeves to the body (don't sew the sleeve seam yet!). Finally, sew from wrist to edge in one go. It was a lot easier that way. Here's what really took my clothes from homemade to luxe: Forget the lining. Using only the pocket, hood, front, back, and sleeve pieces, you essentially make two robes (you end up with a reversible garment). Use all black for one. Then black back and your home color for sleeves, front and hood. Sew right sides together in the round, leaving a gap of about 7 inches at the bottom to turn right side out. Then hem the sleeves. You will need to increase your fabric requirements but this makes for such a beautiful robe with fantastic drape. I used a very light pad on my first try and it just doesn't drape properly and the contrast color panel is too narrow.

Pros
  • This Harry Potter costume template can be sewn in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL for children, teenagers and adults.
Cons
  • I have doubts
