high quality material, not thin and not hard. Holds up well, doesn't wrinkle and looks great. It has a thoughtful design - only the edges of the skirt go under the mattress. The kit includes molded pins to attach to the mattress, but there are only six of them. I figured the bed skirt would sag between them, so I stuck long pins (like hat pins) in a few more places. Our mattress is heavy and I had to lift it up to do all this. I was afraid I hadn't applied it evenly across the entire mattress, but it ended up being beautiful.
