These are expensive mittens, but fortunately the quality and performance justify the high price. Pittard's Armortan leather is of the highest quality and is very soft to the touch. The inner lining is made of very thick wool fleece, very soft and warm. The 800-fill down insulation is as good as it gets, keeping your hands warm in very cold weather. The size chart seems correct. My hands are measured as average based on the Mountain Hardware sizing chart so I went for the M and they fit great, a bit roomy. Please note that when you click on the Revain size chart where it says "arm width" it actually means "arm circumference". If you're willing to pay more for quality, these mittens won't disappoint. They are outstanding in every way and worth every penny. The gloves are made in Vietnam. The care instructions state that they should not be washed or dry cleaned, just hand wipe with a damp cloth.
