Review on πŸ’‘ Yiizon E12 LED Corn Bulbs: Efficient Lighting Solution for Every Space by Tony York

Revainrating 3 out of 5

1 in 3 died at 12 months. 10/15/21 autopsy pictures - poorly designed.

Initially I was very satisfied with my purchase on October 27, 2020. High lumens and 6000K brilliant white. I installed 3 of the 4 lights in my mother's office that needed candelabra bases. Last week 5th October 2021 one of the three bulbs I installed blinked (although they were rated as dimmable they were not in the dimmer circuit). Tonight I replaced the flashing bulb with a #4 from a kit (unused) originally purchased a year ago. LED bulbs should last 7-10 years if properly designed. Time will tell if the lamp failure was just a statistical fluke or (if another failed) the lamps were incompetently designed. - Updated 10/15/2021. I have to believe that this lamp was poorly designed with insufficient heat dissipation. The lamp is disassembled. A LED foil was glued to an aluminum heatsink, which was obviously not suitable for the task. I have a 10 watt soldering iron that heats up to 450 degrees. This bulb is 15 watts. Of course, most of this is used to create photons, but the rest is heat. Those lightbulbs are getting hot! So I opened up a dead lightbulb. The aluminum heatsink stands out, but there's no fan. The pictures confirm that the 10uF, 400V, 105 deg C capacitor was overheated/swollen on top. Also note the charred electrical tape. Capacitor heating is likely the cause of the flashing error.
