I've tried several strong hold lipsticks over the years and Reuzel Blue might be my new favourite. I started Suavecito. , then moved to Layrite, then Uppercut, Comandante and Viking Revolution. For a while I alternated the first three. My issues with the above lipsticks have ranged from weak hold, drying out, sweating on my forehead, skin irritation or breakouts, and just being too expensive. My first impression upon receiving the Reuzel Blue was a large can, similar to the Uppercut but slightly larger and better designed. Like many others, I noticed a strong aroma upon opening. While strong, I wouldn't say it's overwhelming or obnoxious. I can sometimes smell it during the day when it's applied. The lipstick definitely doesn't feel as soft as some of the other lipsticks I've used. That being said, this stuff will be a bit difficult to apply to dry hair. With a little water or towel-dried hair, they are easy to work with and the hold is strong. Reuzel Blue holds up really well and rinses out better than other water based pomades I've tried which is great for me as I have thick and somewhat frizzy hair and wear pomade almost every day.
