Great design, tried 3 other types of pens and none worked. They are easy to use and install, and come with the right hardware. There are no instructions, but they are not needed. I give a short step by step. 1-Unscrew the single screw that holds the triangular part where your standard red strap is. 2- Remove the plastic. 3- Drill the black rivet with a 1/4 metal bit. push the rivet out from behind. 4-The handles are side specific and have a notch that is rounded to fit the handle of the silver piece you removed the standard red handle from. Be sure to install the standard plastic part before bolting on the new handle if you wish to do so. (We didn't) 5-Insert a bolt in each hole in the handle, screw one into the door 6-To install the nut, pull the lever that opens the door to the open position while turning the bolt with a hold tight This puts the handle in a position where you can easily and effortlessly tighten the nut to get behind such a small space. 7-Use a small wrench on one side and an allen wrench on the side facing you to tighten. They work with door pockets with knee pads if you tuck the knee pad behind the metal bar. Such a great product. I wish they were in the back.
