Our Golden is getting a little bit old. Diogi keeps up well with our younger retriever, but we were concerned that she was a bit slower to get up, jumped into my wife's SUV a little hesitantly, and sometimes stood with her front legs slightly bent and legs raised. When we took her to the vet, she confirmed that Diogi had arthritis in her hind thighs/legs. The problem with her front legs was trying to compensate by shifting her weight forward! She recommended glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM and reading the reviews helped us make our choice. One review mentioned that their dog didn't like the taste, but we had no problems with that. We give it to her with meals but she seems to think it's a treat so it must be delicious. (No, I won't try it myself) It's sad with our pets, we can't always tell if they're in pain. But for the first two weeks after she started doing this she seems to move around more easily and now very rarely stands with her front paws bent so it seems to have made a big difference in a short time. did this on our other Golden (bears) in hopes that the supplement will prevent or at least delay the onset of arthritis in him! Would recommend to a friend, furry or otherwise.
