These are hard plastic balls that play fast and loud. My boys really liked the variety of colors. Some are harder to see than others. It was fun because one color gave my youngest son an advantage that could never beat his older brother. Both liked that it matched their game. We also received some competition balls. They loved them too as they had a lot more control and it was very quiet! When asked, they weren't quite sure which type of ball they liked best. I agree with her assessment. Playing with hard plastic and urethane balls couldn't be more different. But both are fun!
