I bought 2 of this item. I used one of these to charge my Pixel 3 phone and found that it only works when a specific side is facing up. I've tried reversing the cable or using a different product instead or substituting a different phone, the results were the same. So I looked at the cables. Here's what I found: Image 2 is the charger for the Pixel. You can see metal wires on both sides. I tested some other USB Type-C cables and found the same result. However, this product (image 1) only has metal wires on one side! It says "Designed in California". Is this so-called "designed in California" quality?
