Overall rating Good for the price. Who it's for: Anyone who wants a comfortable speaker but needs RGB lighting first. Plan: I wanted Bluetooth speakers that could be paired for left and right stereo sound and taken anywhere. First impression: They look and feel full. You can tell that Anker spent some time on it and built it with quality materials in mind. It's a good weight and I expect them to last a long time. I had already checked them out and installed the SoundCore app on my phone before they arrived, so I knew the RGB lighting was down and controlled via the app, which works well. I also like the compactness of the speaker and the rubber cover on the back that hides the ports when not in use. The buttons on the top have short travel, so you can toggle the speaker's main functions with a barely touched button. Listening: This is where it gets mediocre. After pairing with the app and fiddling with the settings, I chose what I liked and started playing music. Immediately I heard a lot of mids. So I reopened the app to see what I need to change. After a moment of confusion as to where the bass button was, I found it on the top of the speaker and pushed it. The bass boost is on, I saw it light up where the button is, but I don't hear any change in bass or music at all. I keep trying to no avail. At this point I thought maybe it wasn't picking up low frequency bass, so I hooked it up to my TV via the TV's AUX input and hooked up the speakers for power. Even with the bass test, nothing changes. Now I know I'm a huge bass fan and can't understand why I can't hear any bass changes at all. I bring other people in to see if they notice I'm different and if I'm crazy. But they couldn't tell either. Bittersweet moment, I'm glad I might not have gone insane, but I was hoping they'd hear how that would change. I went back and paired it with the iPad so I could use it the way I originally intended. I can't get over how muted the highs and lows are. Medium audio levels are great, but I can already get that sound on my iPad. Feature, RGB lighting below: They are amazing with awesome in-app options more than enough to find what you are looking for and very unique. I am constantly asked about lights because they are very attractive. Anker has solved this very well. So good that I usually turn the volume down and just leave it on so I can stare at the light while listening to stuff from the other speakers I have. In conclusion, Anker is one of my favorite companies on Revain and elsewhere. Their power banks are second to none and their customer service is truly outstanding. I have an IT business and use many Anker products on a daily basis, and several customers see me use them and recommend them on a daily basis. In general, the speakers are not bad for their price. Audiophiles may not find them for their needs. I don't consider myself a music lover like I mentioned before, I love bass. I just want it to be more of a bass boost than I think it will be. Advantages: - Compact and handy design. - One of the best RGB app options ever made. low frequencies. - Sometimes it may take some time to sync with each other. - Slightly loud connection tone after pairing (not sure if this is adjustable). I would recommend them to anyone who needs a speaker that you can't expect to get the job done yet, and with the bonus of RGB lighting. Still, I wouldn't recommend them to audiophiles and bass lovers. Many Thanks.
