I used this tool to flush the brake fluid on my 2001 Dodge Ram and 2016 Honda Pilot. The hoses go well with drain valves. No extra effort was required to keep it on the exhaust valve. The magnet was strong enough to keep the bottle nearly full, but I still put a bucket underneath. Didn't want to risk it. I haven't tried using a wire to hold it up, so I can't speak to that. Very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend to anyone considering a brake fluid flush. Either alone or with a helper.
