This monitor comes standard with only 10% brightness, so you need to make adjustments. The instructions are a bit misleading. The "scroll wheel" controls the volume, but pressing it takes you into the settings menu and you can turn up the brightness (this isn't mentioned in the manual). I had to google where the menu button is, but once you figure out this secret, this monitor is perfect for traveling or working from home. Mfg needs to make a small adjustment to the instructions to save customers from disappointment. Great monitor. Five stars.
