I will never burn myself with an iron again. If you don't make an effort, you won't get burned by this tool. Mind you, I don't think this works with short hair. You should be able to hold the hair while you run the tool through the hair. I have thin curly hair. I use it in two ways. When my hair dries out before I can blow dry and straighten it, I use it. Or if I wake up in the morning with tousled hair or need a quick touch-up before going out, it's just a quick swish through my hair. I can honestly say that this hair straightener has reduced the hair stress in my life.
