never mind - Personal Care

First, let me acknowledge that my expectations or hopes may have been a little high when it came to this product. I suffer from excessive sweating or "craniofacial hyperhidrosis”. Mine is caused by heat or a sudden rise in temperature. My job requires me to be outside most of the time. In summer, even brief exposure to the sun, even with little physical exertion, can cause a fountain of sweat on your forehead and nose. In winter, after being outside in the cold, even entering an air-conditioned room (68-73*F) can cause the plumbing to start running. A co-worker once compared it to condensation on a can or bottle after taking it out of the fridge and into a warm room lol. This was obviously embarrassing as my job involves communicating with the public and I found it difficult to look my best. Most of the time I was talking to people I had never met and answering questions. For the first impression there is no second chance. No matter how professional I was or how much I knew, being a hot, sweaty mess and looking like I was about to die didn't inspire confidence. On top of that, when the sweating started, my shyness and anxiety only made things worse: "Am I sweating? Can you see me sweating? Is wiping your face awkward or just draining?” I ALWAYS carry paper towels from the men's room in my bag. However, for some reason I hate wiping my sweaty face in front of people. I'm not sure why; You know I'm sweating, I know I'm sweating, why not just deal with it? I'm telling you, social anxiety is no joke. This is where this product comes into play. To be honest, I knew my problem was serious and I was desperate for a solution. That's why I also ordered Sweat-Block (which I will go into in a separate review). I didn't want to tie all my hopes and dreams to one product. The nice 3B Face Saver was useful, but it's far from perfect. I find that it lays down fairly smoothly, dries quickly and doesn't leave any noticeable marks on the skin. For those complaining that it leaves residue; you use too much I just do a light application after my usual morning routine. I usually put it on before I walk out the door. It dries in the car and when I get to work I can apply moisturizer or sunscreen. There are no serious problems. But that's not for long. Maybe that's why my expectations were a bit high. I take it to work and usually have to reapply it AT LEAST once. Now he says it will take "several hours". But it's not exactly specific. I start work at 6:30 am. I usually need a second coat by 10am. I haven't had any real issues with clogged pores or acne. If I need to reapply, I use a Facial Cleansing Pad (brand name omitted) to remove any remaining old product before reapplying. Quite easy. The hardest part is staying cool enough to allow my face to dry after cleaning and not sweating again as Face Saver needs to be applied to dry skin. I will say that the combination of Sweat-Block and Face Saver brings the most benefit. For those unfamiliar with Sweat-Block, apply at night before bed. But it's not made for everyday use. As such, the first day or two after using the Sweat-Block and Face Saver in the morning are usually my best days. Overall I think this product lives up to its claims. I think I was hoping for more so was a little disappointed that this isn't the miracle I was looking for. But that's not the product's fault. You can't buy apples and then get angry when you bring them home because they're not oranges. ***Warning*** Sweating is the body's natural way of cooling itself through evaporation. It's a necessary evil, not just a nuisance. I've never been a sweaty guy in any area other than my face/head. This changed when I started using these products. Preventing sweat from entering the face simply creates a dam; SOMEONE has to go. I started sweating in places I had never sweated before; my back (especially my lower back, I feel like it sags sometimes), feet, legs, palms. At some point, drops of sweat even formed and ran down my forearms. Well, I don't sweat in all those other places at the same time, mind you. These are just different places where he showed up at different times. It's a small price to pay in my opinion and I'd rather do it since these places aren't usually visible. If you are considering trying this or any facial sweat reduction product, be aware of this potential effect.
