I have three cats who make quite a mess in the litter box. Plastic shovels just didn't fit because the handles bent so easily. They were also uncomfortable to hold. I decided that I would give him a chance. The handle is much more comfortable to use, not very soft, but the shape is better and easier to hold. The shovel feels very firm, does not bend. My only complaint is that the slots are too big so small pieces just fall through. Because of this, I had to leave my cheap plastic scoop for small pieces. I'm still glad I made this purchase because it's great for heavy stuff.
