This type of remote control works great with Hampton Bay ceiling fans. Just make sure the "dip switches" in the battery box are set to match the settings on the old remote control or receiver box in the fan. You don't need to "press" the buttons for the remote to work. In addition, you can be a fairly decent distance from the fan and it will send a strong signal to it. The remote control is solid (we dropped it on the floor a few times and it still worked). The only reason we ordered another is that the previous one was worn out from use. The only complaint we have is that the device is very expensive and doesn't come in factory packaging (leading us to believe it's not new). The delivery was very fast and came directly to us. You will not be disappointed with this remote control. It works!
