Review on POWR LABS Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor Armband: Optimal Tracking for Polar, Wahoo, and Garmin by Joseph Montes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent HRM bandage. A definite buy if the price is discounted compared to Wahoo, Polar etc.

When I first started using the Powr Labs heart rate monitor with a wristband, I found it to be a great HRM for training. I don't see how similar devices from Wahoo and Polar could be any better. It paired easily with my smartphone fitness tracker. Given that the underlying technology is available in countless "fitness watches" selling for half the price or less, it seems like the main price you pay for when buying this type of dedicated Bluetooth heart rate monitor is the ability to pair with various smartphones -Apps to pair and exercise equipment. . The only "complaints" I have are really just observations. First, the dedicated charging cradle has a very short cord, only about a foot or so. Two to three feet would be more practical. And for all the blah blah blah in Powr's "Born in the Mountains of Park City, Utah" commercial, the device is clearly made in China and the instructions are written in that decidedly clumsy English that suggests that who, who she wrote, no native was an English speaker. . The warnings section in particular leaves the user in the dark as to what they want to say about the warnings that pop up or what they mean. The Powr website is pretty sparse and it doesn't look like much time has been spent on the project. All this to say that the device works well, is easy to set up and comfortable to wear. If you can find it at a discounted asking price compared to the Wahoo and Polar, it's a good buy.
