I have a black Chevy Silverado and I'm learning more and more about the details. I recently found autogeek.com and there was a mention of a clay bar. After a bit of research I decided to give the Mothers California Clay Bar system a try. After using the clay stick for the first time I can say that it is essential if you want to detail your car to prepare it for waxing, paint protection etc. To use it properly, be sure to follow the instructions that come with it. Again, I found the Autogeek.com website very helpful. It includes several videos on detailing your car, including using a clay block. At least a few tips to get you started. It comes with 2 clay bars, 1 bottle of lube and a microfiber cloth. When you open the clay block, flatten it until it's soft. Spray generously onto the vehicle and run the clay stick over the vehicle only over the lubricated area. With the Mothers California Gold Clay Bar, you can feel, and sometimes even hear, the clay bar picking up dirt from the car's paintwork. After using the clay pen, use a microfiber cloth to wipe away any excess grease. I wouldn't say I've had any problems with the Clay Bar System. Just a few things to watch out for. Make sure to only use the clay bar where you oiled the car, otherwise it could ruin your paintwork. The spray has a strange mint smell (gives your car a fresh mint smell). If you drop a clay bar on the ground, I highly recommend switching to another clay bar and throwing it away. It picks up dirt very easily. If you get a small rock or pebble and don't notice it, it could ruin your paint! It took about an hour to completely coat the entire truck in clay. It takes a lot of time, but it's worth it. This is a great product. This makes your car feel silky smooth even before waxing. Waxing your car will make it much faster as the car has been completely stripped of any paint residue. That's how it starts and it comes off very easily.
