Too complicated for something that should be easy.

I should have listened to other reviews before buying this item. I really wanted to like this thing (especially after spending a bit too much on a basic camera mount) but in the end, using this thing is actually more of a hassle than just putting the camera in your pocket, or with a wrist strap. I bought this because I was going on a long hike and planned to clip it to the left strap of my backpack. However, a few things made it unfortunate: 1) 2 velcro straps didn't stay on the velcro on the strap and it caused the camera to fall off twice. 2) This is the main point: Installing and removing the camera from the mount is a PAIN. It's so much work and time that you almost don't want to be messing around with your camera when the next cool photo-worthy thing happens. When you have a camera on the street, you want to be able to take it with you at all times to photograph everything that happens. Many times I've lost my shot from messing around with the mess that this holder is. Half way through the trip I just gave it up and ended up attaching it to my backpack with an elastic cord to keep your trekking poles in place and it worked great. Sometimes a simple and inexpensive answer is the best. In general, the construction and materials are decent, but the design isn't perfect. Not worth the money and definitely not worth the time.
