Back in 2012 I bought 4 of these for my Jeep JK. I put them on the roll bar and put them on that day. It is now a jeep with limited sun exposure, 2 of which the jeep was stored in a garage or warehouse. They were rarely used as I was the only one sitting in or using the car. So, last week my friend's 8 year old was using one to help herself in a jeep and it separated where the grip meets the handlebar shroud. I was shocked so I tested the other 3 purchases by just pulling tight and they all did the same thing. Right at the seam. 5 years seems to be their lifespan and I have a very clean and well maintained Jeep. While I expect things to wear out, I don't expect them to fail after minimal use. I won't buy them again.
