I hesitated to try it because high quality linen is very expensive, but there is. But I am very happy with these sheets. Linen bedding is not for everyone. They look and feel very different from regular cotton blend bed sheets. Yes, they need to be washed several times before they become soft and look like vintage linen. Be patient. Wash them several times before putting them on the bed. Soak them in hot water with a cup of baking soda in the washing machine overnight. Then rinse and line dry or tumble dry on low and remove when still slightly damp. You may have to repeat this several times before they are as soft as you want. The set I bought was well made and has washed up fairly well so far. Once again, be patient and you will be rewarded.
