Not what you're looking for
If you're just starting out with a safety razor, this isn't what you need. The other reviews are correct, the bowl is small, too small and smooth to actually get good foam. Another problem is that the foam easily detaches from the edges. I've used it 3 times thinking I'm doing something wrong to get bad lather. I ended up using a wooden bowl my grandfather made for small items, it was bigger, taller and foamed better. Save your money and get a better bowl.
