I recently decided that I needed a second external monitor to connect to my laptop. My first monitor used the HDMI port on my laptop. I still have USB-C ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports. After purchasing a monitor and a USB-C to HDMI cable, I found that my USB-C port does not support video output. Oops! I thought I was unlucky but did a little research and found this little baby. I had an extra USB 3.0 port and it was an easy fix for my situation without having to spend a lot of money to buy other adapters with ports I didn't need. I downloaded the drivers from their website, connected and Viola! Install and run in less than 2 minutes. Now I have 2 external monitors. I ran youtube or 2 as well as hulu shows - no problem. I'm not a gamer or an avid video user. hope it lasts I am happy with my purchase.
