When DC power was applied to this device, the built-in voltmeter continuously flashed 8,8,8 while the external voltmeter read exactly 13.00 VDC. I sent the unit back for an exchange and the exchange was also faulty: the reading of the internal voltmeter fluctuated between 7.2 and 7.7 volts when connected to a stable 13.0V DC supply. This is both a device and manufacturer fault.
