I experienced the same thing most people are talking about here. The only difference is that I kept trying to get it to work. This only seems to work if both channels have a good connection for both pads. This means all four pads must be attached before it will work. Press the ON/UP button once all the pads are in place and you should see indicator lights on the device showing functionality, with the pads now emitting electrical impulses. Trust me I was also very disappointed and thought it didn't work. Almost gave up. But if you just have patience and play with the damn thing, you'll understand! S/P changes whether the arrows affect the "Speed" or "Power" parameter without specifying what it affects. To turn off the device, bring the power to 1 and press down again, instead of going to zero it turns off. The reason only the OFF and MODE buttons do nothing is because the pads don't have a clear connection! No hair, clean pad-to-skin contact. ALL FOUR GASKETS must be installed BEFORE operating the unit! Three stars because the pads are a bit unsteady. Get the best pads if you are serious about using this product.
