One of the frustrations of Pickleball is the lack of a standard ball. There are balls inside and outside which I think makes sense. But each manufacturer uses their own proprietary material, so each ball plays and feels different. Last year our club announced Onix Fuse as the official ball. Great ball, great feel and great control for those of us who like to play with spin. Then a few months ago it was decided to switch to the Penn 40 Pickleball. Excellent. The Penn feels a little "heavier" and has less bounce than the Onix, but it's pretty close. Well, someone saw where the pros like Dura Fast 40 balls because they're rock hard, have a lot less bounce, and because they're so hard they're hard to hit accurately. I found that I had to hit them a lot harder to get them to go over the net and hit them a lot softer or they would walk away. If you have excellent hitting skills and want a ball that can inflict maximum pain on your opponent with body punches and want to make your pickleball game that much harder, these balls are for you. :-/
