Works with a 2018 MacBook
I have this cable to connect my 2018 MacBook to my TV. No converters were needed. I've only used it a couple of times but it worked great. I had to turn on the sound in the laptop settings, but there were no problems. Great price, I bought one from Apple a few years ago on an old MacBook and it was $80. Can't beat it!
