If you find yourself in the unusual situation that you need to purchase two of these tools to lengthen the chain slightly from the original 114 links, then avoid it Use the chain splitting tool to add links. Just use the chain cutting tool to shorten this chain and powerlink to reconnect the links. In my case, I found that a pin that was reinserted and detached could detach from one of the other outer panels. Luckily I caught this in time and removed the broken links and added them back from my spare 850 PC using only Powerlinks. Otherwise no problem. The chain runs smoothly and shifts very well. Power connections are great! The only reason I might choose a different brand next time is that it comes with 116 links from the start so I don't have to buy two chains. Otherwise I prefer to stay with SRAM.
