I bought this product to decorate one side of the fence during my backyard Halloween party. I ordered two models with 40 LEDs and powered by an external battery. The faint orange glow added to the backyard's aesthetic, but it wasn't blindingly bright when viewed from his direction. The product says it's 17 feet; however, about 5 of those feet are the power cord that goes to the jack-o'-lanterns. I probably paid attention to this detail when I bought it. It looked a bit garish because it didn't reach the end of the backyard due to a length miscalculation, so I used it to light the drinks table instead.
