
This device will turn off power ONLY if the power surge is completely off for more than 1 second. In the event of significant destructive power surges (and most of them happen) that cause the power to fluctuate for 1 second, this device will never turn off connected devices. The connected devices usually suffer from overvoltages because there was no overvoltage protection on the line. I don't understand how difficult it is to make a device that works properly for its intended purpose and test the design before it's released to the market.
