Review on Ultimate Home Theater Cooling Solution: AC Infinity 🌬️ AIRPLATE T7 Quiet Cooling Fan System with Thermostat Control by Khiam Burton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic product even better customer support

I installed them with relative ease including a 2 fan extension for another AC Infinity AI-CFD120BA Dual 120 Quiet Cabinet Fan, Black, 4 fans total. The control unit is easy to use. Performance seems good enough so far, but noise is an issue. At low and medium speeds, both pairs of fans make a rattling, grinding noise. At altitude, all you can hear is the rumble of the air (which is still pretty loud). I've built PCs before and fans shouldn't sound like this, especially at low speeds. I couldn't place a thermal sensor directly over the hottest part of my amp as it would reflect a higher temperature than the surrounding air and run at a high temperature all the time ("smart mode"), so sensor placement is important. My entertainment center is very closed, so I find the performance a bit difficult without admission. It seems like it has to work a little harder than I expected to keep the temp around 75 without even loading my amp. I have an Onkyo receiver, XBox, AppleTV, modem and router in the same closet (with sensor). DirecTV set-top box, Blu-ray player and XBox Kinect in another. Overall, I'm reasonably satisfied, but I would like a quieter system that doesn't have to work as hard. For quieter fans I would give 4.5 stars. ***** UPDATE March 2, 2015 ***** AC Infinity just delivered one of the most incredible customer service experiences I've had in years. After posting my first 3 star review on Revain I was contacted (just a few days later) to say that they had found a hardware fault in the thermostat controller causing the mill fan noise and that they were updating one version had. The model leaves the factory. I was immediately sent a priority mail which I installed today after my return from vacation. I'm happy to report that the low/mid speed fan noise has been eliminated and the only noise I hear now is air vortex. Sounds exactly what I expected. As a bonus, the display backlight (which was always on even when the system was idle and was fairly bright) now has a timeout feature. While I didn't call it annoying in my original review, the bright lights at night became a bit distracting after a while. This product improvement is another example of a company listening to what reviewers have to say about its products and getting it right. Oh and Jeremy from AC Infinity sent me an apology for the inconvenience and also left me a voice message. while I was on vacation I asked how the updated device works. I think that's pretty incredible these days. Needless to say I am updating my rating to 5 stars.
