I don't know why but it worked better than Olaplex on my platinum white hair. I used the #2 after bleaching and have used it every few days and the shape of my hair is superb having previously worn down the blonde. I don't know why it works for me, but Olaplex has never given me such results. I have found Olaplex helpful with bleaching where it helped my hair maintain high quality but offered no support in the post bleaching process. (which means Olaplex #2/#3 didn't do anything for me). This binding material makes a difference. For the record, I had very fried hair (from an overpriced stylist) and was looking for a treatment to help and it worked well. Since then I've transitioned into do-it-yourself hair and that has actually helped improve the quality as well. The last time I used this (#2) I left it overnight and went for a swim in the pool the next day, forgetting it was in my hair. When I stepped out of the pool and my hair was dry, it looked like I had virgin white hair - I didn't think it was possible. After drying, the hair became soft and silky! I continued petting him that night. it was wonderful. But to be perfectly honest I never shampoo and use coconut oil treatments every few days and that probably had an effect.
