So I replaced the flaps and got oversized flaps only to tug on the chain from time to time to keep the toilet from running all night. I would adjust the chain, shorter, longer, try float flaps to see if it centers, try big flaps. Still leaking. I used to often put those chlorine tablets in the tank which I think prematurely aged the doors and surrounding pipe. So I tried this design, which has an interesting "wired" connection that lets you flush and press to stop flushing if you want. It's a little oversized and overdone, but it works. I've had them since January, so far no problems, no leaks. Now I wish the grip material was a better quality but the metal grips I had seem to have rusted so maybe this chrome plated plastic will work better in the long run.
