Both of our original covers broke at the attachment point. and I had cut outs for the cord. Both of my outlets are the same size, but a cover wouldn't snap into place. I heated the joints in very hot water, tried reinstalling it and it snapped into place with little effort. .The cover covers the outlet and allows the timer cord to pass through the cutouts.
