I'm using my lovely red pestemal for a rather unusual purpose. My dear husband sleeps very warm. On the other hand, I, or the foot as such, gets very cold when I sleep, especially on the toes, feet and even shins. Raynaud's disease is the main cause of my symptoms. I've struggled with extra bed layers on my DH for years. He used to throw his whole top pile of bedding at me. I'm cold, but not that cold! So Peshtamal to the rescue. TA Dah! I use a nice cotton width as a light bed sheet. It's the perfect width, length, and weight, and my DH no longer throws extra layers of bedding on my side of the bed because they aren't needed and are no longer on the bed. When the cold weather sets in, the Peshtamal will be covered with a blanket to give my spastic feet and legs extra warmth that I will feel comfortable in. Peshtamal washes and dries perfectly: the colors do not spread, leave villi or threads. I'm sure it would make an excellent towel or diaper too; but it serves me well as a personal thin mini quilt.
