Review on ENOMAKER Near End Extrusion Conversion Kit: Enhanced Extruder Performance and Convenience by Mark Bennett

It actually works well

I upgraded my Ender5 Pro to have direct drive extrusion. The installation actually went well. I read the reviews before purchasing. It seems that they solved most of the problems stated in the review. There was an installation guide in the box and the offsets between the extruder and the hot end also appeared to have been fixed. at least in my kit. I used a stock seal. Most likely you will have to cut off the connecting teflon tube. I know what I did because the air couplings are very close together. The only real issue I had was that like many other people, the screws weren't long enough a couple of times. No problem as I have quite a large selection of them. I actually had more trouble getting the bltouch offset to work properly, but that wasn't an issue with the kit. The only thing I had to use outside of the kit was to print another X-axis mount to restore the size of my bed. Used what was mentioned in the other review. (Item No. 4407360). I tweaked it a bit to make it stronger and printed it in PETG. The extruder barrel was loose and upon further investigation it was found that this auger was too long. I just used the washer on the outside and it tightened properly. Works well. Overall I would recommend this to people. I don't use the standard fan cover with this printer, so I had to fiddle with it a bit to get it in place. I have printed with it and the quality of the parts is very good, almost the same as the ones I have already received, but the real advantage is that I have a TPU that I have from 3D Solutech prints beautifully. Thank you for a great value set that works well.

Pros
  • Improved Extrusion: Because the motor is mounted on the printhead, it's easier to push the filaments through the nozzle, resulting in better extrusion.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
