This is my third pair of Teva. However, my previous Teva had a cross strap near the toe and an ankle strap. This is my first pair with multiple zig zag crossings. It is important. I read several positive external reviews about this model. However, I was disappointed. I'm on the small side of a US size 8 and sometimes I can go for a 7 or 7.5. I think size 8 fits me because the velcro ends in the middle of the adjustment range. Fitting these sandals is a nightmare. Getting dressed takes too long. There are three intersections that the tape will pass by itself. Because of the friction, the straps snap there and stay put - which means you have to tug and fiddle with three places on the straps, as well as the ankle strap, to get the right feel. You can't set it and forget it - you have to do it every time you put them on. The Velcro on the sole of the foot is very uncomfortable. The material of the strap is thin but quite comfortable. However, the Velcro adds stiffness and creates an uncomfortable edge that tends to dig into the top of the foot at the ankle. There are no pads under this part of the strap, which appears to be a very poor design, especially since rubber pads have been added to several other places on the straps. As a result, the edges of the ankle straps dig in uncomfortably. The only positive thing about these sandals is the sole, which I find very comfortable. Either I have weird feet or the people who post positive reviews have weird feet. I don't understand how these sandals can earn 4 or 5 stars.
