Review on πŸŽ’ Top-Notch Osprey Stratos Eclipse Medium Backpack: A Must-Have Casual Daypack by Aaron Urena

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent backpack with a few small flaws

I used this backpack for a week of day hikes in the Swiss Alps and am very happy with the package. It has enough storage and compartments for a day hike (it could probably be used for a light weekend night hike as well). The two pockets at the top of the backpack (one accessible from the inside, one from the outside) are handy for phone, keys, etc. The large main compartment has both top and side access. There is an external pocket on the back of the backpack that can hold a first aid kit or other items. I really like the trampoline style back - it protected my shirt/skin from the backpack which made hiking very comfortable. Loop points for trekking poles came in very handy. I got caught in the rain once and the built in rain cover worked well. I only have a few minor complaints. The drinking bottle pockets are not so easy to reach with a backpack. I had to struggle a bit to get to my water bottles without removing my backpack. Of course, a water bladder (the backpack has a compartment for one) would solve this problem. The pack doesn't stand upright when you put it on the ground - it rolls onto your back, so don't store fragile items in the outer rear pocket. Finally, the waistbelt pockets could have been bigger. They're too small for most phones, but I've used them for my wallet, keys, hand sanitizer, etc. Overall this is a very good package!

Pros
  • Elasticated mesh pockets on both sides of the backpack provide easy storage for bottles and small items
Cons
  • Negative gift
