Jack of all trades, master of presentation.

Blon A8 really surprised me because they are very different headphones. What impressed me the most is that they can perform jazz exceptionally well. Yossi Horikawa's Spaces and Vapor albums (to get an idea of how they work on stage, harmonies, connectivity and bass) as well as very different musical choices such as Tupac, Eva Cassidy's Acoustic album (must listen), Petra Magoni covers . such as "I Will Survive" (with a fantastic presentation), "These Bones" by The Fairfield Four and the A8 exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable. Instead of a "where it all begins and where it ends" mess, the Blon A8 offers a more real and intriguing presentation of my favorite jazz tunes, as well as other styles of music. Duke Ellington with John Coltrane was my first stress test and I was incredibly impressed. Ellington and Coltrane really intrigued me. , on the album I heard it at least a hundred times (here I am generous). A scene where the instruments are fairly close and there is clear depth layering in close proximity is very accurate. The 'air' between the instruments as they are presented is compelling, the lack of congestion as the instruments transition in a general direction (not in the way one would expect in a room playing alongside one). Shaft tips are ok, I haven't changed tips yet which means I can get a small boost in performance as well as comfort from this. The tips and body don't bother me even after a few hours of use, but that's also very individual. Nuts, in a good way. It looks almost like bare stranded wire due to the silver braid pattern, has a very transparent coat that looks fantastic in the hand. The wire is also quite flexible and well made in every way. Reliable connectors and Y-splitters. I would like a longer version of this cable for my HE1000V1. I really emphasized that they play jazz well and I don't want to underestimate their diversity and skills. Jazz is just one of those things that's hard to do, as more complex pieces require an all-round excellence in performance. Another example of something unrelated to jazz. Chan Chan from Buena Vista Social Club just blew me away with the way everything was presented in and around my head. The binaural recording really shows the potential of the A8, as do other binaural recordings like the aforementioned Yosi HorikawA and Ottmar Liebert. The same arguments apply: for a cohesive image, separation of tools, precise placement. One hears the instrument "there and in the room next door", not only "the picture is good but lifeless". a permanent system on my desk where I adapt to a speaker amp, dedicated preamp, custom DAC and adapter block to switch from speaker wire to 4-pin XLR for headphone output. Reservations about using them most of the time, although they tend to be competitive in price and performance. It's nothing that happened to me, but I'm always worried about damaging them and otherwise not finding practical time to use them (for example, I like it, I go for a walk or do something outside and I'm afraid that my field of work puts any IEM at great risk). However, I love it so much they easily replace my disposable EarPods that I use for sleeping, walking and cycling etc. I still worry about falling asleep with the headphones in my ears and the moisture trapped at the risk of infection. However, this is a problem of habit, and IEMs are generally not to blame. If you're looking for a $100 price point for reliable IEMs that are very competent all-rounders, this is the best I've come across. The A8 offers "ultimate value for money" in sound performance even to most of the lower ranges of my (still) more expensive headphones in my collection. I'd recommend them to anyone as they all do pretty well, but especially if you're looking for an IEM with a cultural twist for instrumentals, binaurals, jazz, and singer-songwriters. Yes, they sounded great for Tupac. Yes, they sounded great to Petra Magoni. Yes, they sounded great to Yossi Horikawa. Yes, they sounded great. for The Fairfield Four. Yes they sounded great on Eva Cassidy's Acoustic album and that's a pretty high standard as this album shows the timing errors that create a whistling sound and I've never heard anything like it. And my goodness, they sounded so amazing for the Buena Vista Social Club. I didn't even bother to start the Demon until the album was over because the sound on the A8 was so stunning.
