I bought it for the trip. It's big (it has 4 sockets so it doesn't get small) so it's more like putting it in a pocket than a pocket. The sockets are spaced a reasonable distance apart so you can easily plug in at least a couple of wall warts at a time, maybe more depending on the shape. As for why they face towards the center I don't know - it looks like they might give you more room to plug in those clunky adapters if they faced outwards.
