My granddaughter is a true artist. She always draws, and for her sister's birthday she drew a tall princess for the game Princess Crown. It was very well done. Although her 17th birthday is still a long way off, I know it will be exactly what she will love. This is a very good set for those who like to draw. It doesn't seem that difficult to get someone a drawing pad and some pencils, but a person grows when they have quality materials that expand their creativity. As an artist, I know I pay more attention to projects with quality materials. The black canvas zip case with three paneled sections is very beautiful. The first two sections contain artist's pencils: 12 each with different markings for drawing, metallic crayons, watercolor pencils, and colored pencils. The kit includes a very nice watercolor brush that can be filled. The third section contains 12 charcoal pencils that differ in hardness, medium or softness. Artistic tools are also included in this section. The set includes three mixing sticks of different sizes, a double sharpener, an eraser, a pressed sheet of sandpaper and a precision cutting tool. The kit includes a dual-tipped pen extender. So when the pen reaches the last bit, it can be inserted into the extension and any tip can be used. Materials do not have to be thrown away. The paperback sketchbook measures 5½" x 8¼" and contains 160 pages. It does not fit in with tools and pencil, but is put in the box that everything was in. I've tried everything except the sketchbook and they are all good quality. This is a great and very fun gift for your favorite artist!
